The 10-Step Glow Routine Every Modern Woman Should Master

Healthy, glowing skin is not the result of any single miracle product. It is the result of a thoughtful daily ritual, layered in the right order so each formula can do its job. Below is the exact ten-step routine our beauty editors return to whenever skin feels dull, tired or out of balance.

Step 1 — Oil cleanser. Begin with a gentle oil or balm cleanser to dissolve sunscreen, makeup and the day's pollution. Massage onto dry skin for sixty seconds, then emulsify with lukewarm water.

Step 2 — Water-based cleanser. Follow with a low-pH gel or cream cleanser to clear away any residue and prepare the skin for actives.

Step 3 — Exfoliant. Two to three times a week, swipe a leave-on AHA or BHA over clean skin to encourage cell turnover and refine texture.

Step 4 — Toner or essence. Hydrating toners flood the skin with humectants and create a damp canvas for the products that follow.

Step 5 — Treatment serum. Choose one targeted concern per session — vitamin C in the morning for brightening, niacinamide for pores, peptides at night for firmness.

Step 6 — Eye cream. A pea-sized amount tapped around the orbital bone protects the delicate skin from creasing and dark circles.

Step 7 — Hydrating serum. Hyaluronic acid layered on damp skin draws water in and plumps fine lines almost instantly.

Step 8 — Moisturizer. Lock everything in with a cream suited to your skin type. Look for ceramides and squalane for barrier support.

Step 9 — Facial oil (optional). A few drops pressed in at night seal moisture and deliver a soft, satin finish.

Step 10 — SPF. Mornings end with a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher. Without it, the previous nine steps are largely cosmetic.

Stick to the routine for at least six weeks before judging results. Skin works on its own timeline, and the most beautiful complexions are built through quiet consistency rather than constant novelty.
